The Power of United Prayer

I love summer road trips! There’s nothing like cruising the open road, rolling down the windows, cranking up the radio, and singing along to your favorite tunes. What we don’t often realize is that there are thousands of others tuning in to the same radio station we are, jamming out and singing along.

Now imagine what it must sound like to God when we start singing along to the latest worship song on the air. He hears thousands of hearts—isolated by distance, but united in focus—singing together for His glory! Your road trip just became part of a massive worship gathering.

At OneCry, we take very seriously what Jesus alludes to in Matthew 18:19-20 about praying in agreement. “Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.” Though the context of this passage deals with church discipline, we believe the principle of united prayer has great value in the eyes of God.That’s why we find great purpose in providing you with the OneCry Prayer Calendar. Every day, you have the opportunity to join in prayer with thousands of other believers asking God to bring revival to churches, cities, and the nation.Maybe you pray on the way to work, or in your prayer closet, or with a small group of friends. Maybe your entire church uses the Prayer Calendar to unite in praying for revival. Regardless of when or how you use the Prayer Calendar, you can pray confidently, knowing that your prayer is being united with those of believers all around the nation.
